STEVE BIKO

A couple of months ago I wrote about working on Cry Freedom - a film about the friendship between the South African activist and Black Consciousness leader, Steve Biko and the editor Donald Woods.
Steve Biko was murdered in police custody 35 years ago this month. The police said he died as a result of a hunger strike.
Here are a couple of links to a BBC programme about his death as told through the memories of Helen Zille, the journalist who helped reveal what had really happened to him.
